Ross, William J.
Variant namesArmy officer William Ross served in the Civil War mustering out with the brevet rank of Major-General of Volunteers. He graduated from West Point, and then while serving with the United States Army as Second Lieutenant, he was sent to Arizona Territory in 1868 where he served under General George Crook.
