Ogilvy (1914-1985) was a former "Fortune" magazine editor active in the formation of world federation and environmental organizations. He held several posts in the California based environmental group, the Sierra Club, and was an organizer of its Atlantic chapter, the first chapter outside of California. In 1969 he helped incorporate the environmental organization, the Friends of the Earth, along with fellow environmentalist David Brower.
