Born in 1923, Duke held office or was active in a number of organizations including Population Action International, the National Abortion Rights Action League, The Packard Foundation, The Draper World Population Fund, and several major corporations. Her work continues to this day. She was married to Angier Biddle Duke, Chief of Protocol and ambassador to Spain and Denmark under the Kennedy and Johnson administration. She was also was ambassador to Norway.
