Labouisse, Henry R., 1904-1987
Variant namesHenry R. Labouisse (1904-1987) was a distinguished American diplomat and international public servant. He served as a U.S. government official working on the formation and implementation of foreign economic policies during World War II, as director of the International Cooperation Administration (ICA) in 1961, and as U.S. Ambassador to Greece from 1962 to 1965. He also served as director of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) from 1954 to 1958, and as executive director of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) from 1965 to 1979.
