Effa Manley was co-owner of the Newark Eagles of the Negro Leagues. Cliff Kachline wrote and edited for The Sporting News (1943-1967). He was Public Relations Director for the North American Soccer League from 1967 to mid-1969. He than became Historian for the Baseball Hall of Fame (1969-1982) and after leaving the Hall he was Executive Director of SABR from 1969-1985.
