McCawley, Charles Laurie, 1865-1935
Variant namesCharles Laurie McCawley (b. Aug. 24, 1865, Boston, Massachusetts-d. April 29, 1935), Brigadier General, Quartermaster, U.S. Marine Corps, a college graduate, began his military career as a Captain in the Marines in 1897. He saw action in Cuba, the Philippines, and was later assigned to Marine Corps headquarters including duty with the President from 1902 to 1910. He was appointed Quartermaster of the Marine Corps in 1913. General McCawley retired in 1929.
