Cantwell, John Simon.

John Simon Cantwell ( 1837-1907 ) was born in Dublin, Ireland . He was ordained as a Universalist minister at Malone, New York, in 1858 . He served pastorates in Malone, New York ; South Boston and North Attleboro, Massachusetts ; Columbus, Ohio ; and Chicago, Illinois . He received an honorary doctor of divinity degree from Lombard College in 1876 . Cantwell was appointed editor of The New Covenant in 1883, and then Western editor of The Universalist Leader upon their merger in 1897 .
