Missionary; born John W. Stauffacher in 1878; attended Northwestern College in Naperville, Ill. (1896-1900), where he met Florence P. Minch, whom he married in 1906; leader of the Volunteer Band at Northwestern Coolege; served as missionary with Africa Inland Mission in Kenya and the Belgian Congo, 1903-1940; served as AIM treasurer (1904-1906), Corresponding Secretary (1906-1912), the Field Director for East Kenya (1912-1916), and Deputy General Director (1921-1923); retired in 1940 to open a guest home for missionaries in Ruwenzori, Belgian Congo; died while traveling to Nairobi, 1944. Florence P. Minch was born in 1881; studied at Northwestern College to become a teacher; joined AIM and traveled to Africa in 1905, where her work included teaching Bible lessons, reading, writing, arithmetic and sewing; after her husband's death in 1944, she served AIM in Kenya; died in 1959.
