Physician, missionary; born Elwood Linnell Davis July 11, 1879, the son of a Presbyterian minister; graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Rutgers College (1902) and from Hahnemann Medical College in Philadelphia (1906); married Bernice C. Conger, a nurse, in 1910 and sailed almost immediately for Kenya; was in charge of Africa Inland Mission's Theodora Hospital in Kijabe among the Kikuyu Tribe; served twice as Kenya Field Director (1931-33 and 1946-49); retired to the AIM retirement center in Clermont, FL; died August 26, 1961.
