Kirby, Thomas Austin.
Variant namesThomas Austin Kirby (1904-1993) was a professor at Louisiana State University from 1935-1973, serving as head of the English Department from 1940-1973. He was awarded his Ph.D. degree by Johns Hopkins University and became an authority on medieval and Victorian literature. He authored numerous scholarly books, articles, and reviews, and was a bibliographer for THE CHAUCER REVIEW.
