The Florida State University Alumni Association, established in 1909, is dedicated to serving the university and communicating effectively with alumni and friends to build and sustain support. The Association supports alumni chapters throughout the United States, maintains alumni records, coordinates receptions and classrooms, and produces the annual Homecoming event. In addition to these activities, it publishes and distributes various publications, on behalf of out of state FSU alumni groups, such as out of state alumni football newsletters.

Class gifts have been a senior class tradition at Florida State University (FSU) since 1910, when the institution was the Florida State College for Women (FSCW). Examples of these gifts include marble pedestals, the sun dial in front of Bryan Hall, and the bronze doors of the Westcott Building.
