Beth Walton Moor was born April 3, 1897 in Pensacola, Fla., attended Florida State College for Women 1915-1918, and graduated with degrees in math and home eonomics; she taught high school and college until she married Frank D. Moor in 1926; founded Tallahassee Garden Club 1927, decorated governor's mansion for many occasions, served on various committees at Florida State University, fund-raiser for Longmire Alumni Bldg. at FSU (its lounge named for her in 1984), Tallahassee "Woman of the Year" in 1967.
