Bourne family.
Frederick Gilbert Bourne (1851-1919) was president of the Singer Sewing Machine Company and Commodore of the New York Yacht Club. His estate in Oakdale, Long Island was purchased in 1926 by Clason Point Military Academy, which became La Salle Military Academy. Bourne's mansion, Indian Neck Hall, is still used by the school and is on the National Register of Historic Places.
