Wolcott was born on March 26, 1848 in Long Meadow, Hampden County, Massachusetts. Fought in the Civil War with the 150th Ohio Volunteer Infantry. Graduated from Harvard Law School in June 1871. Moved to Black Hawk Colorado in 1871. Colorado lawyer (Georgetown and Denver) and U.S. Senator. Died in Monte Carlo, Monaco on March 1, 1905.
