Missionary; born Katharine Hasting Dodd in 1908 to missionary parents in Shangtung Province; graduated with a degree in zoology from Wheaton College, 1930; served as missionary with China Inland Mission, working among Chinese women and children; married Otto Schoerner, 1939; returned to the United States, 1951; had five children.
