Steiner (1892-1966) was an Austrian writer, poet and publisher. Richard von Mises was an Austrian-born mathematician, engineer, and positivist philosopher; his wife Hilda (Geiringer) von Mises was an Austrian mathematics professor. Both were Harvard University faculty members.
