Trinkaus, Charles Edward, 1911-1999
Variant namesCharles Trinkaus (1911-1999) was a leading scholar of the Renaissance and is credited with launching the flowering of Renaissance historical scholarship in the 1940s and 1950s. Longtime faculty member at Sarah Lawrence College (1936-1970), he also taught at the University of Michigan (1970-1982) with visiting appointments at other universities.
