Charles Adams Mosher was born in Sandwich, Illinois in 1906. He graduated from Oberlin College in 1928 and worked for newspapers in Illinois and Wisconsin before returning to Oberlin in 1940 and purchasing the weekly paper, the Oberlin News-Tribune. He served as the paper's publisher and editor for twenty years. In 1951, he was elected to the Ohio State Senate, and ten years later, he ran for the U.S. House of Representatives, winning election to Ohio's 13th congressional District. He served for eight terms before retiring in 1977. Mosher died in Oberlin in 1984.
