Andrew Gordon Magrath (1813-1893) was a Confederate governor of South Carolina. After the Civil War, he was imprisoned at Fort Pulaski, Ga., and upon release practiced law in Charleston, S.C. He was the son of John and Maria Gordon Magrath.

Represented St. Philip and St. Michael Parishes in the South Carolina House of Representatives, 1838-1841. Federal judge to the District Court of South Carolina, 1856-1860. Represented St. Philip and St. Michael Parishes at the South Carolina secession convention, December 1860. South Carolina Secretary of State, Dec. 1860-Apr. 1861. Confederate States judge to the District Court of South Carolina, 1862-1864.
