Commission appointed by Governor William Stratton for the purpose of planning and directing a year long celebration of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Abraham Lincoln. Newton Camp Farr was chairman of the 51 member Commission. Published a guide for teachers that included a bibliography of Lincoln material. Culminated in a banquet held on Feb. 12, 1959 at Springfield, Ill.
