The World Student Christian Federation was created in 1895 as an international student Christian movement which could encourage and coordinate the work of national student Christian movements.The WSCF had headquarters in Geneva, but maintained a U.S. Board of Trustees to guide policy and financial operations in North America.

The World Student Christian Federation was created in 1895 as an international student Christian movement which could encourage and coordinate the work of existing national student Christian movements and help create student Christian movements in countries where they did not exist. The work of the Federation was carried out through conferences and committee meetings, publications and visits to national movements by its secretaries.
