Painter and museum curator, Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, N.Y.

Burroughs studied at the Art Students League in New York and at the Académie Julian in Paris. Later, he became an Associate - then a full member - of the National Academy of Design in New York. From 1909 to 1934 he was the Curator of Paintings at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
