Poore, Charles, 1902-
Variant namesAmerican author Charles Poore was born in Mexico and educated at Yale. He wrote various pieces for the New York Times, and is probably best remembered for his outstanding work on the New York Times Book Review, where he wrote daily reviews for years as well as holding editorial positions. He also published a biography of Goya, and edited the successful Hemingway reader.
