Anna Brownell Murphy Jameson was a multi-faceted writer, producing valuable works on subjects from Art History to travel writing to Shakespeare. Born in Dublin, she spent most of her youth in England, and was a tireless traveler through much of her adult life. Visits to Italy, Germany, France, Canada, the United States, Scotland, and Ireland inspired her diverse writing. Her fiction and essays are important for their early feminist themes.
