First performed at a concert of the National Association of American Composers and Conductors, New York, 28 January 1940, broadcast over Station WNYC. New York Civic Orchestra of the WPA, Macklin Marrow conductor. Title later changed to Carolina, suite for chamber orchestra.--Cf. Fleisher Collection.
