Harwood P. Hinton was a professor of history at the University of Arizona from 1961 to 1989. He received his BA from the University of Texas at Austin in 1949, an MA from Columbia University in 1955 and a PhD from the University of Wisconsin in 1960. He was also an author/editor for books and publications such as Arizona and the West . Hinton’s books include History of the Cattlemen of Texas and Thurber, Texas: Life and Death of a Coal Company Town . He also authored numerous book reviews and articles. Hinton is a member of the board of editors of the Western Historical Quarterly, a life member of the Texas State Historical Association, and a member of the Organization of American Historians and the Western History Association.

Herman B. Weisner (1922-2003) was a historian in New Mexico.

Weiner was a resident of Organ, New Mexico, for the majority of his life. He served his country in multiple ways. Not only was he a member of the US Coast Guard but he also served during World War II. Weisner was known for his book entitled The Politics of Justice: A.B. Fall and the Teapot Dome Scandal, A New Perspective. Herman B. Weisner died January 13, 2003 following a long illness.
