Margaret Rogers Chandler (fl. 1780s-1860), daughter of John Rogers, patriot leader, member of the Continental Congress, and first chancellor of Maryland, was also descended from the Lee family of Virginia. She married Walter Story Chandler in 1799 and resided in Georgetown, Washington, D.C., where she raised a large number of children. One of her sons, Colonel Daniel Thomas Chandler (1820-1877) served on General Robert E. Lee's staff during the Civil War.

Margaret Rogers Chandler (fl. 1780s-1860) was the daughter of John Rogers (1723-1789), patriot leader, member of the Continental Congress, and first chancellor of Maryland (appointed in 1778). Margaret Chandler was also descended from the Lee family of Virginia. She married Walter Story Chandler in 1799 and resided in Georgetown, D.C., where she raised a large number of children. One of her sons, Colonel Daniel Thomas Chandler (1820-1877) was captured during the Civil War, imprisoned, and then released in exchange for the nephew of Governor Andrew Johnson of Tennessee. Subsequently, Daniel Chandler served on General Robert E. Lee's staff, and, having visited Andersonville Prison in that capacity, was a witness at the trial of camp commander Major Henry Wirz.
