Chandler, Margaret Rogers

Margaret Rogers Chandler (fl. 1780s-1860), daughter of John Rogers, patriot leader, member of the Continental Congress, and first chancellor of Maryland, was also descended from the Lee family of Virginia. She married Walter Story Chandler in 1799 and resided in Georgetown, Washington, D.C., where she raised a large number of children. One of her sons, Colonel Daniel Thomas Chandler (1820-1877) served on General Robert E. Lee's staff during the Civil War.
