Leiper, Henry Smith, 1891-1975
Variant namesHenry Smith Leiper was an American clergyman and author. Born in New Jersey, he was educated at Amherst, and later Columbia University and the Union Theological Seminary. He spent four years as a missionary in China, and upon his return to the United States became active in various national and international organizations. He was the author of several books and co-founder of the World Council of Churches.
