Louisiana Historical Society
Variant namesThe Louisiana Historical Society was organized in 1836, reorganized in 1846, incorporated in 1860, and reincorporated in 1877. It published The Publications of the Louisiana Historical Society (Ser.1: 1895-1917, Ser.2: 1973-1974) and The Louisiana Historical Quarterly (1917-1972). It is the oldest historical organization in the state.
