Ballowe, Hewitt Leonard, 1876-
Variant namesHewitt Leonard Ballowe was a physician and folklorist from Buras and Diamond, Louisiana. He is best remembered for the works: Creole folklore tales; and, The Land sayin' the same. Dr. H. L. Ballowe was elected coroner of Plaquemines Parish, La., in 1908.
