Biographical notes:

Secretary of the Arizona Historical Society for 22 years; Edith gathered information from pioneers including her father, Emerson Stratton, who owned the Inter-Ocean Ranch on the north side of the Santa Catalina Mountains near Tucson. She was active in women's organizations including the Tucson Woman's Club and the Arizona Federation of Women's Club.

Biographical note: Pioneer Edith Stratton was born in Florence, Arizona in 1878, attended normal school in Los Angeles and returned to teach in Tucson, Santa Cruz County and Helvetia. In 1903, she married George F. Kitt. She was the Secretary of the Arizona Historical Society for 22 years and was active in many women's organizations.
