Sykes family.
Engineer, explorer and author; Godfrey Sykes arrived in Flagstaff in 1895. He assisted Dr. D.T. MacDougal at the Carnegie Desert Laboratory from 1905 to 1933. His sons, Gilbert and Glenton Sykes worked for the U.S. Forest Service and Glenton was City Engineer in Tucson in the 1940s.
