Clinton Scollard was an author and educator based in the Northeast. He served as Professor of Rhetoric at Hamilton College before resigning to devote himself to writing. He was primarily a poet, and published numerous poems and collections. He also served as an anthologist, sometimes with his wife, poet and critic Jessie Belle Rittenhouse.

Clinton Scollard, an American poet and educator, was born in Clinton, N.Y., graduated from Hamilton College, and studied at Harvard and Cambridge, England. He was a professor of English at Hamilton College and a prolific, yet minor, writer of verse. His second marriage was to author and critic Jessie Belle Rittenhouse.
