Italian doctor in jurisprudence and fierce critic of Protestantism, from a noble family documented in Campo Marzio (Rome) from the 15th century. Erudite antiquarian and collector, he followed the family tradition in his ecclesiastical career as cameriere of the Ospizio di S. Trinità dei Pellegrini (founded in Rome in 1625).
