Eichel family.
Biographical notes:
Julius, David and Albert Eichel (brothers) were absolutist conscientious objectors to war, as was Julius's wife, Esther and their son Seymour. They championed the right of the individual to be free from government oppression or interference. Raised in the Jewish faith but grounding their convictions in Socialism, David and Julius were imprisoned as conscientious objectors to World War I. The bulk of the collection is about Julius Eichel.
