Juan Almonte (born May 15, 1803), Mexican diplomat and soldier, conducted an inspection tour of Texas in 1934 and later returned to Texas with Santa Anna in 1836, only to fall captive at the Battle of San Jacinto. He died in Paris on March 21, 1869.
