Tom A. Jones was born in Utah. At age fourteen he went to work in Saint Christopher's Mission in Bluff, Utah. Thereafter he was employed as a sheepherder, in the Geneva Steel Mill in Provo, Utah, on a railroad, in uranium mines and then back at the mission.

Jay Heisel was born 23 July 1924. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He devoted most of his adult life to St. Christopher's Mission in Bluff, Utah. He died 27 April 2001.
