The Preston H. Thomas Memorial Lectures in the Department of Architecture have been given annually since 1976 with funds provided by Leonard and Ruth Thomas of Aurora, N.Y., in memory of their son, Preston, who was a third-year student of architecture at Cornell when he was killed in an automobile accident.
