Lyttelton was an English Whig statesman and writer. Montagu (1720-1800) was an English writer and one of the first Bluestockings.

George Lyttelton, 1st Baron Lyttelton (1709-1773), statesman, was M.P. for Okehampton between 1735 and 1756 and opposed Walpole. He was also a patron of literature and wrote poetry and history. For fuller details of his life and achievements see the Dictionary of National Biography
