Angus Wilton McLean of Lumberton, N.C., was a lawyer, banker, and active Democrat. He served as a director of the U. S. War Finance Corporation, 1918-1920; assistant U.S. secretary of the treasury, 1920- 1921; and as governor of North Carolina, 1925-1929.
