Thomas C. Blaisdell was born on December 2, 1895 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was Assistant Secretary of Commerce from 1949 to 1951, and helped formulate the economic policies of the Marshall Plan. He died in Berkeley, California on December 27, 1988.
