Herman Foster Robinson was born in 1878, the second son of Dr. Beverley Robinson and Anna E. Foster Robinson; he was a nephew of Henry DuPont. An 1898 graduate of Harvard, he received his law degree in 1900 and passed the bar exam. In June, 1903, he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
