Lister, Alfred E.
This documents contains information on the descendants of John Colvin. John Colvin was born in England about 1655 and immigrated to Dartmouth, MA in 1675. He was married to Dorothy Allen and they were the parents of nine children. Their great-grandson, Philip Colvin (1758-1832) was born in Scituate, R.I. and served in the Revolutionary War. He married Sarah Berry (1757-1847) and they were the parents of eight children. In 1820 they moved from Rhode Island to Abington, PA where they lived on a farm in West Abington. Their children included: Mercy Colvin (1779-1865) who married James Nichols; Prudence Colvin (1783-1872) who married Samuel Stone; Anna Colvin (1784-1848) who married Lemuel Stone; Lovina Colvin (1785 - ) who married Mr. Green; Mary Colvin (1787 - ) who married Thomas Smith; Miriam Colvin (1789- ) who died young; Joseph Colvin (1791-1880) who married Eunice Wight; Rhoda Colvin (1794-1867) who married Arnold Franklin; and Cyrus Colvin (1799-1879) who married Phebe Northup, then Maria Dean.
