The material, which dates from 1922-1991, includes approximately 100 letters written by Margaret Mitchell to friends and associates, including Harvey Smith, Julia Collier Harris, Julian Harris, Cary Wilmer, and Nelson Shipp. There are also photographs of Margaret Mitchell and an interview with Ralph McGill about Mitchell. The collection also includes musical adaptations of Gone With the Wind, audiovisual materials, printed material, and memorabilia relating to the motion picture.
