Five boxes plus maps of China, Japan and Korea. Four boxes contain single issues of magazines, guide books, booklets, and pamphlets on China, Japan, Manchuria, Malaya, Burma, Korea, and the Southeast Asia region. The materials are mainly on the political, historical and economic conditions. There is also one framed (5 x 7") portrait of an unidentified Chinese plus an assortment of pictorial postcards and photo snapshots. The fifth box contains a collection of folded maps and there are twelve rolled maps of the region on the open shelf. Most of these maps and printed materials are from 1936 to 1945. Frank Williston was a specialist in Far Eastern affairs, particularly Japan and China, who taught at the College of Puget Sound (now University of Puget Sound) before World War II. This collection contains materials on the political, historical and economic conditions in China, Japan, Manchuria, Malaya, Burma, Korea, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Southeast Asia. It also contains correspondence pertaining to the Nanking Theological Seminary during the Nanjing Massacre in December 1937. The collection contains publications, reprints, pamphlets, reports, correspondence, maps, a transcript and a manuscript.

Albert Schweitzer (1875-1965) was a medical missionary, philosopher, and Nobel Peace Prize winner (1952), who operated a hospital in Lambaréné, Gabon, for 45 years. Regester's collection of Schweitzer-related correspondence, files, articles, clippings, photographs, and a 1940 manuscript on Indian and Chinese thought, and African artifacts.

The photo album contains photographs (taken 1915-1930?) of Wood's activities with Ezra Meeker, G.N. Talcott of Olympia, W.P. Bonney of the Washington State Historical Society, and others in locating various famous historical sites in Washington and Oregon. It contains photographs of Seattle (including Alki Point, Totem Pole Place, downtown, Volunteer Park, Woodland Park, and a convicts ship exhibition); Tacoma (including the first cabin on the town site, Point Defiance Park, Tacoma Hotel, Wright Park, and the Ferry Museum); Olympia (including the end of the Oregon Trail marker and Priest Point Park); Fort Nisqually (including original buildings, Ezra Meeker, C.B. Bagley and other pioneers); various Indian missions in the state; and more. The diaries are one to each year (1870-1932) and of a 3 x 5" size. The entries are short and succinct with no elaborate narrative descriptions or commentary of those times and places. Wood was a pioneer surveyor of the Northwest from 1883 to 1932 who worked at or visited sites including the Puyallup Valley, Auburn, Fort Nisqually, St. Joseph's Mission near Yakima, Fort Simcoe, the Whitman Mission, Fort Dalles, Steilacoom, and other sites in Washington and Oregon. The collection consists of diaries and a photo album.

The Abby Williams Hill collection was donated to the University of Puget Sound by Ina Hill beginning in the 1950s. The collection includes over 100 paintings; many are on display in UPS Jones Hall. Materials on education, culture, politics, economics and business in the People's Republic of China in the late 1980s, with a focus on the political turmoil in 1989 and the Tiananmen Square protests. The collection is mostly clippings of newspaper articles from China Daily (an English language newspaper published in Beijing, China), Hong Kong newspapers, and newspapers from Washington State. Includes complete editions of China Daily from May 16 to June 6, 1989. Also includes articles on education, culture, politics, economics and business. Includes wall maps, tourist maps, books and booklets on Chinese history, culture, peoples, culinary arts, and folk songs, guidebooks, political pamphlets, and one video on Taiji in the original VHS PAL and a converted NTSC format. The collection was compiled during the first three of four years Claire and Don Egge were teaching and living living in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, Northeast China, along with some material collected during their fourth year, between 1997 and 1999. Largely comprised of newspaper clippings from English-language newspapers from the People's Republic of China, 1987-1990, focusing on political and economic questions and the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989. The most important materials are several fragmented posters with large character recording what happened inside the campus of the Heilongjiang Normal University in Northeast China, regarding what had been happening in the capital Beijing. Among them, the fragment of a poster dated 4 June 1989 at 7:30 is rare evidence of that historical event. Also includes general books and pamphlets on Chinese education, culture, politics, economics, and business, maps, and similar material collected by an American couple living and teaching for four years in China.
