In the 1950s and 1960s he broadcast a weekly radio program for KUOW (Seattle) dealing with events in the Far East.

Frank Goodman Williston was born 1899. He was a specialist in Far Eastern affairs, particularly Japan and China, who taught at the College of Puget Sound (now University of Puget Sound, in Tacoma, Washington) before World War II. He earned his master's degree (1926) and Ph.D. (1935) from the University of Chicago. Most of his academic career was at the University of Washington, where he was a professor in the Far Eastern and Russian Institute. In 1955 he was chosen to spend a year in Bangkok as director of the Fulbright program in that area. In the 1950s and 1960s he broadcast a weekly radio program for KUOW (Seattle) dealing with events in the Far East.
