Dabney, Dunlora, Charlottesville, Va., writes a gossipy letter to Noland in Baltimore conveying news of family and friends. she reports that "Mildred" gets drunk every Christmas, that Louis Smith is not as handsome as Tom Randolph, Christmas at home was more fun than Christmas at Edge Hill, Sally Lewis is in school in Richmond and Ann Lewis in school in Charlottesville, Lucy Minor is marrying Mr. Trice of Essex, Dr. Davis has a new son, and that she is not responsible for a trick played on Ella.

The Sparks collection consists of original and transcribed historical documents and correspondence, chiefly concerning the American colonies and the original thirteen states, collected or transcribed beginning in 1819 by Jared Sparks. The collection includes the papers of Sir Francis Bernard and George Chalmers, letters of Benjamin Franklin, Alexander Hamilton, the Marquis de Lafayette, and George Washington, the journals of Thomas Ainslie, the Board of Trade, the New York Provincial Congress and Conventions, as well as the papers and records from state public offices, among many others. The Sparks collection also contains his own historical essays and compositions, published articles, letter books, diaries, account books related to his college days, professional research, and material documenting his tenure as College president.

Title: Monticello graveyard papers [manuscript], 1922-1927.

The collection consists chiefly of correspondence of Jefferson Randolph Kean on the Monticello graveyard, particularly burial rights, Levy and Eppes family requests for inclusion, extension of the graveyard, and the size and placement of tombstones. With the papers is a copy of an indenture between Jefferson M. Levy, Thomas Jefferson Randolph, IV, Hollins Nicholas Randolph and the Thomas Jefferson Memorial Association, 1925; and notes on legal decisions regarding cemeteries. The collection also contains a copy of a Smith Family genealogy tracing the ancestors of Margaret Smith Nicholas to Samuel Smith of County Tyrone, Ireland. Correspondents include J. Randolph Anderson, Archibald Cary Coolidge, Harold Jefferson Coolidge, Holins N. Randolph, and Cornelia J. Taylor.
