Collection consists of 34 letters received from fellow members of the Roxburghe Club, a private society of bibliophiles in England, concerning society business, meetings and dinners, and publishing activities. With 12 engraved portraits of members (including a mezzotint engraving of Henry Drury by Charles Hodgetts, a lithograph of Stephen Richard Glynne by Charlotte Neville Grenville and a lithograph of Joseph Littledale by Nichols), 4 views (including an etching of the residence of Archdeacon Wrangham in Chester by Musgrove) membership lists, receipts and manuscripts; poems transcribed by Sir Walter Scott, and "Bibliomaniac Ballad" (4 p.), in which Roxburghe Club members are named. Correspondents include William Bentham, William Bolland, Alexander Boswell, James Boswell, Samuel Egerton Brydges, William Holwell Carr, Thomas Frognall Dibdin, Henry Drury, Stephen Richard Glynne, George Nugent Grenville, Richard Heber, George Hibbert, George Howard, Joseph Littledale, John Arthur Lloyd, Walter Scott, John Charles Spencer, Richard Thomson, A.J. A collection of manuscript opinions of at least 17 English barristers or judges in 38 cases. The cases are all in equity and the opinions were written in response to a request from the defendant's or plaintiff's counsel. The subject matter includes cases in inheritence, real property disputes, electoral disputes, business litigation, bankruptcy and debt, contested bills of exchange, illegal arrest, procedure in recovery, and cases relating to settlement laws for paupers and tradesmen. Many of the cases originate in Ipswich (England). The signature on several remain undecipered.

Album containing a collection of ALS written by members of the Roxburghe Club, London, including George Spencer Churchill, 5th Duke of Marlborough, Thomas Frognall Dibdin, and William George Spencer Cavendish, 6th Duke of Devonshire. A letter written by John Ker, third Duke of Roxburghe, is also included. Related engravings, clippings, bookplates, coats of arms, and club rules, member lists, and other printed materials are tipped and laid in. Holograph and typed contents lists laid in.
