Collection of legal opinions, ca. 1731-1780.

A collection of manuscript opinions of at least 17 English barristers or judges in 38 cases. The cases are all in equity and the opinions were written in response to a request from the defendant's or plaintiff's counsel. The subject matter includes cases in inheritence, real property disputes, electoral disputes, business litigation, bankruptcy and debt, contested bills of exchange, illegal arrest, procedure in recovery, and cases relating to settlement laws for paupers and tradesmen. Many of the cases originate in Ipswich (England). The signature on several remain undecipered.
